Hopefully what I’m about to do isn’t going to shock the living hell out of anyone who reads this… but here goes.

As many of you know, I’ve been using the music name Platinum Dragon17 for many years now. I’ve released four albums under the PD17 name to the public (Graveyard Shift, Dark Awakening, Fusion of the Elements, and the newest one Meaning of the Dreams), and I have many albums that I’ve made for myself and a very select few who’ve happened to get their hands on a copy of my earlier works.

Most recently, I brought out a darker side of me called Bullet of Reason. I want this project to release some of the demons that burn in my head. Originally, PD17 was doing that for me, but I felt like I drifted away from that… not to say that it was a bad thing.

But enough about the history, I’m going to cut right to the point. I’ve been trying to fuse so many different elements together into the PD17 name that it’s almost become unbearable and annoying for me. I’ve also, to be honest, have run out of ideas and things to say as Platinum Dragon17.

Because of this, I need to rework and rethink Platinum Dragon17 as a whole. I need to go back and think about where I started. Yes, as a musician you should evolve, and I personally feel like I’ve done that. However, I do feel like that side of me has said all it needs to say and I don’t want to keep repeating the same old stuff over and over just to keep it “alive”.

Now, this doesn’t mean that I’m killing off the Platinum Dragon17 name. I’m just taking a break from it. I want to focus a lot more on Bullet of Reason and get better at that. Will there be a time in the future that we will see Platinum Dragon17 again? Yes… It could even be within the next year or so, I don’t know. But I will tell you that most of my music updates will be BoR based. Many of my active websites will turn into Bullet of Reason instead of a combination of PD17 and BoR. I’ve even created a new Twitter page for Bullet of Reason (more details to come if you want to follow me on Twitter) and email account dedicated only to Bullet of Reason.

As well, there are a couple of projects that are in the making (which I can’t really share information about) that will include Bullet of Reason working alongside other people and things. More details of that to come.

So don’t consider this a farewell… it’s not like that. I just need to let that side of me go into hibernation and think about a lot of things before it can move on and come back out of the cave.
